I have assiduously avoided Baha'i politics for quite some years - until now. I have not been a member of a community for maybe 25 years.
While all this introverted, finger-pointing, activity goes on, what has happened to teaching - our primary responsiblity?
I pioneered at the end of Shoghi Effendi's 10-year Global Crusade and attended the World Congress in London 1963 with the election of the first UHJ.
Thereafter teaching seems to have fallen away and, as an outside observer, I have not seen any Baha'i teaching activity for years. There is no teaching activity from the OBF either, and I live in the same city as the present Guardian of the OBF.
Apart from my pioneering experience I have never been a teacher as such, preferring to sow concepts. However, today, how could one possibly teach the Faith when inevitably the question of sects and factions would arise, thus undermining the very basis of the credibility of the Cause.

S-o-o-o great to see you back in there Vonda. Remember our emails long into the night? Unfortunately I had a big disagreement with Joel and have been a persona non grata since. Oh well!

GOD ofcourse!!! , so who will be the looser UHJ or you Orthodox Bahais, so time to wakeup time to be all bahais working for justice and not for our Ego... time to go up not down

cris

i also believe that it's time to realize that we dont need a guardian. Can we compare Abdul'Baha with the actual guardian of the orthodox Bahai' no ofcourse!!!, if the UHJ is not infallible than let think togethers who can t be infallible !!!!!

cris

well i do not see unity and i can say that bahais are far to act like Baha'u'llah said.

poor humans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for sharing your powerful essay, Vonda, and for sharing so generously.

Very well put and logical, Vonda. I am so glad you have found your power and come toward the truth you discovered.

Well said, Vonda. In addition to those who have left the Baha'i faith, there are countless others (such as myself) who never joined for fear of "shunning" and other pressures to conform. Who knows how many seekers have been attracted to the Revelations of Baha'u'llah, only to be repulsed by the Politburo-style tactics of the UHJ? I pray that someday the Baha'i faith will be rescued from darkness and allowed to breathe and walk in the light once again.

Thank you, Vonda, for having the courage to accept the True Faith of Baha'u'llah in this day. And thanks be to God that He has honored you with the talent to describe your emotions in such a powerful manner.
