Since almost 1700 years ago, and continuing today...

Constantly, during almost 1700 years, since the early part of fourth century of our Common Era and also continuing at our present time, the Catholic Church has claimed that those denying that the Lord Christ is Almighty God are perpetrating a "frightful sacrilege":

"Saint Athanasius was born in Alexandria, Egypt, towards the end of the third century, and from his youth was pious, learned, and deeply versed in the sacred writings. He left the paternal home to be raised by the bishop of Alexandria like a new Samuel in the Lord’s temple, as befitted one whom God had chosen to be the champion and defender of His Church against the Arian heresy, which denied the Divinity of Christ.... the Catholic Patriarch of Constantinople, with Saint James of Nisibe, who was in Constantinople at that time, Saint Athanasius in France and the Catholics everywhere, had recourse to fasting and prayer, that God would avert from the Church the frightful sacrilege."  (Little Pictorial Lives of the Saints)

As Bahá'ís, we know that Almighty God is: "...in truth...the Mighty, the All-Knowing" (LONG OBLIGATORY PRAYER)

Nobody in the Universe can reveal anything to Him. As "the all-Knowing", He cannot receive a Revelation.  Nobody can deny Him knowledge or hold back from Him any facts or deceive Him.

Anyone who can receive a Revelation, therefore, is not God, since God cannot receive a Revelation. The Lord Christ taught that He would return to the same glory which He had before He came to Earth.  After His ascension, having returned to that full glory which He had before, Holy Scripture informs us that He received a Revelation.  Therefore He is not God.  God cannot receive a Revelation:

"A Revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave Him..." (Revelation1:1, Holy Bible)

Yes, as Bahá'ís, we know that the teaching that the Lord Christ is not Almighty God is not a "frightful sacrilege", but rather it is truth.

History is repeating itself.  Shoghi Effendi, the first of our Bahá'í Guardians taught that the Guardianship of the Bahá'í continues by power of the "hereditary principle" of the Bahá'í Faith, which generates a succession of Guardians throughout this Millennium, which
Millennium recently commenced.

Just as Arius approached Catholics 1700 years ago attempting to assist them to see the error of their Trinity doctrine, Faithful Bahá'ís during the past 50+ years since the death of the first of our Guardians, Shoghi Effendi, in 1957, have been attempting to assist members of the large body of Bahá'ís to see the error of their rejection of Shoghi Effendi's teaching that the Guardianship of the Bahá'í Faith continues throughout this Millennium.

The actions of the heterodox Bahá'í leadership currently on Mt. Carmel/Wilmette clearly demonstrate that it considers the teaching efforts of Orthodox Bahá'ís related to the continuing Guardianship of the Bahá'í Faith to be 'frightful sacrilege'. Will that so-called Universal House of Justice currently on Mt. Carmel be permitted to continue rejecting
the sane teaching of Shoghi Effendi and Orthodox Bahá'ís for the remaining many centuries of this Holy Bahá'í Dispensation?

The third Guardian's explanation of the prophetic Tablet of the Holy Mariner provides the answer to that question.
